be bold. be confident. be you!!!

Welcome to My BeYOUtiful Blog! My name is Jenese and I am the founder of BeYOUtifully Designed, a non-profit organization that encourages middle and high school girls to discover their self-worth. In this blog, we’ll talk about all things related to self-confidence and self-esteem with the hopes that you’ll build your self-confidence, enhance your self-esteem and love your self-image! When you hear the word bold what comes to mind? When you think of the word confident do you think of yourself ? Being bold and portraying confidence is one of the biggest struggles middle and high school girls face because it requires you to accept yourself just the way you are. In today’s world of Instagram features and Snap Chat filters it’s becoming more difficult to determine the real from the fake. Every girl seems to have flawless skin, amazing hair and the perfect shape. Not to mention, she has hundreds of Insta likes and Snap Chat followers, so she must be bold and confident, right? Wrong! According to Common Sense Media.Org, 27% of girls feel stressed about how they look in photos and 22% feel bad about themselves if their photos on social media are ignored. Newsflash, the girl that you think has it all together with her pimple free skin and amazing curls is just like you. She too struggles with accepting who she is and being bold, brilliant and confident in her own skin!   So, what does this mean for you? In no way am I saying that you shouldn’t care about your appearance, but you shouldn’t allow it to control your every thought. It takes guts, wit and tenacity to courageously accept who you are and love yourself unconditionally. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else because you were designed intentionally. If it was meant for you to be taller, shorter, skinnier, thicker, have curlier hair or a different complexion, guess what, you would’ve already had it! From this day forward, concentrate on the qualities that make you unique. It takes so much more fearlessness, heroism and bravery to accept who you are instead of hiding behind what you are not. There are a million followers in the world. Stand out and be different! Be bold. Be confident. Be YOU! XOXO Jenese
